The Downtown Guesthouse offers asuper clean and cozy stay with a wonderful owner who genuinely cares about guests' experiences. Its central location in downtown makes it easy to walk to attractions like Harpa and various restaurants. The beds were particularly comfortable.
The sulfur smell from the hot water can be unpleasant.

Pisa Guesthouse was perfectly located in downtown Reykjavik a short walking distance from restaurants, the main shopping area and site seeing areas. The rate was excellent for the time of the year and a buffet breakfast of juice, milk, coffee, fruit, toast, eggs, ham and much more was unexpectedly provided. "Anna" tthe lone morning staff member that I saw, spoke English and was very attentive. The single room, was simple but sufficient and included a nightstand, chair, sink and tv. Washroom facilities were very nice and never a problem in sharing with other guests and for the most part, other than being outside the room, felt much like it was my private bathroom. Access was simple with a key provided for the entrance to the Guesthouse. The restaurant provided a lot of choices on the menu at reasonable prices. I brought a bicycle with me and was provided with a location to store it but ended up keeping it in my room anyway.
The tv was older and without a remote and the signal was weak with a fuzzy picture but considering that most programming was in Icelandic and I was out most of the day, made it of little concern. There is a club next door but never posed any kind of a problem for me.

The location is fantastic, within walking distance to attractions and restaurants. The kitchen is well-equipped. The room had some issues, like a poorly functioning shower and limited space for personal items, which detracted from the experience.

The Pisa, has a great and friendly staff who go out of their way to help. They even upgraded my room to an ensuite one for free. A lovely resto below, with an excello chef. Reykjvik tends to be overpriced in its accommodation, but kroner for dollar, the Pisa is a great bet... Homey, and super convenient to everything and everywhere in iceland.

Extremely noisy courtyard resulting in sleepless nights!!! Lack of staff presence made communication difficult, forcing me to rely on other hotels for assistance!!! The luggage room not locking is a security risk that should be addressed!!!

Fantastic price for the quality of accommodation and a really good breakfast served in the morning. Also a perfect location right in the centre of town, no need to walk very far to get anywhere.

It was a fantastic stay on two nights in town. We were in an unbeatable location a 10-15 minute walk from Laugavegur. It was walk from a main street and a church too.

During my stay, I appreciated the comfortable bed and the cleanliness of the room, especially the shared bathroom facilities. The location is quite convenient, with several attractions like the National Museum and the Reykjavik Maritime Museum just a short walk away. The road noise did affect my sleep on occasion, being that my room faced the street.

Breakfast included, friendly staff (owner spoke to me many times), amazing location close to the harbor and right downtown (could walk everywhere); I was supposed to be in single room with shared bathroom, but they upgraded me!
Right next to club that was lousy at night, no shower curtain (but my friend's room had one)

Room was clean and large enough. Should have a table to write on. Wi-Fi worked fine in room and downstairs in excellent restaurant. Restaurant is not inexpensive, but a very good deal considering the quality, and the 20% discount for people that stay in the guest house. Location excellent, in walking distance of the down town places.

The location was great, right in the centre of Reykjavik and beside the 'City Pond'.
The breakfast was limited but my tastes are fussy.
